Article Marketing Keys

Article marketing is a means of promoting your product or website by writing articles about it and then submitting it to Article Directories for publication in newsletters and on other websites.

The article will usually be able to include a link to your website, as well as a short bio. When I write articles and submit them to different directories, I usually make each submission a little different by adding paragraphs and changing words.

This is quite easy, and with a bit of practise can become second nature. The reason for doing this is simply that the search engines don't like duplicate content, and rather than helping to build your link popularity, you could in fact be penalised.

While there are excellent article submission services out there such as "ArticleMarketer.com", which automatically submit articles to hundreds of article directories, I'd recommend that you start by manually submitting your articles to a hand full of quality article directories.

A lot of people simply buy Private Label Rights, or PLR articles, put their name and link on them and then sumit them to the directories. While this is cheap and easy, if the articles are poorly spelt and/or written, it will reflect badly on you.

Rewriting this material can be just as hard as beginnng to write them from scratch, and there is always the chance that someone else will be submitting the same articles.

I delete both of them when this happens on my directory, because it reflects badly on me as far as publishers are concerned if they find them before I do!

No one knows your business like you do. Simply sitting down and writing the good points about your business or product, your goals and why people should deal with you and not someone else is a good place to start.

You could develop a series of articles based around your product in this way. Once you have your basic articles organised, you can edit and correct them.

Writing about your product like this allows you to submit them to an article directory with your link attached for publication.

There is no problem should you feel that your writing isn’t up to scratch for publication. Once you have your ideas on paper, or a word processor document more likely, it’s a relatively simple process to find a ghost writer to either edit or rewrite your material.

This way you have the advantage of a professionally written article, or series of articles, with which to promote your business.

Most good ghost writers charge between around $30.00 and $100.00 per article, depending on the length. Some may even write for less if you need material on an ongoing basis.

Once you have an outline of what you want to write about, check your copy for popular keywords. Don't fill your article with keywords, as this can amount to spam in the 'eyes' of the search engines.

Just have a few keywords scattered through your article, rather than jamming them in all over the place, and wtite naturally.

Remember what I said earlier, it's product or website that is being showcased here. A well written and presented article will promote your business and help create crediblity in the market place. A bad article will just turn people off!
